وأكمل: “الحديث كان بطريقة واضحة بين الزمالك وسبورتينج لشبونة، عندما تحدثت مع مسؤولي الأخير فإن الشخص الذي ينوب عن النادي أكد أنهم منفتحين لحل الأزمة، الأبيض قدم عرضًا ولكن الفريق البرتغالي لم يرد حتى الآن، ويريدون الحصول على عرض أفضل، لكن في وقت قريب سيحدث هذا”.

وأكد: “توجد مناقشات جيدة الآن بين الطرفين، والزمالك يُحاول بقوة، كما أنهما يريدان حل الأزمة، ورئيس سبورتينج لشبونة تواصل مع المسؤولين في الزمالك، وبالتأكيد سبورتينج يريد الأموال، لكن ما أراه في الوقت الحالي أنهما سيصلان لحل يرضيهما”.

ماذا عن آلية دفع الغرامة؟: “لا أعلم، وحقيقة هذا ليس شيئًا مهمًا، الطرفان هدفهما الحل، والزمالك كيان كبير في مصر، وأنا أحب مصر بشكل شخصي وبداخلي دم مصري، ولكني لا أهتم بالتفاصيل، لكن ما أعتقده أن التواصل الآن جيد بين الطرفين والاتفاق قريب جدًا”.

متى بدأ التواصل معك كوسيط لحل الأزمة؟: “أنا لست الشخص الوسيط، أنا من لشبونة وبرتغالي وكنت مع الزمالك في فترة ماضية، أنا صديق للطرفين، ولست المنوط بالوساطة بشكل رسمي، الأمر بين الناديين وقريبين من حل الأزمة، أنا فقط أقترح وهذا هو الدور الذي ألعبه”.

هل يُعاونك في هذا الدور روي فيتوريا أم لا؟: “بعض الإعلاميين يقولون هذا، لكن ليست لدي أي معلومة، فيتوريا لم يتحدث معي نهائيًا بشأن هذا الأمر، أنا فقط من أقوم بهذا الدور، وشرف كبير لي أن الزمالك يعتبرني شخصًا مهمًا بالنسبة له”.

هل ما زلت تتابع الزمالك؟: “بالطبع، وأشاهد المباريات والفترة الأخيرة لم تكن سهلة، لديهم العديد من المشاكل، ولكن الآن توجد إدارة جديدة لديها تحديات جديدة، بعض اللاعبين ليسوا في أفضل أوضاعهم، وهذا يؤثر على قوة الفريق، لكن النتائج الأخيرة جيدة بصرف النظر عن الأداء، الأهم أنهم يتصدرون المجموعة في الكونفدرالية”.

وأشار: “الزمالك لعب أمام مودرن فيوتشر بشكل جيد، وأعتقد أنه مع الاستقرار في النادي وجلب صفقات جديدة، الفريق سيكون مختلفًا، الزمالك يستطيع أن يُحارب من أجل وضع أفضل في الكرة المصرية، عليهم القتال من أجل حسم المراكز الجيدة”.

كيف ترى منتخب مصر مع فيتوريا؟: “أعتقد أن النتائج جيدة، هو مدرب جيد، لديه العديد من الخبرات وأحترمه، ولديه علاقة جيدة مع اللاعبين وهذا يُساعده على تقديم أداء جيد معهم، لكن علينا أن نعترف أن المنتخب تطور مع كيروش وشهد الفريق انتفاضة كبيرة، وفيتوريا لديه وجهات نظر مختلفة فنية، والفريق يتحسن، هذه فترة اختبار وهي ليست سهلة”.

وأتم: “أشعر أن محمد صلاح له تأثير كبير على المنتخب داخل وخارج الملعب، والشهر القادم سيكون مختلفًا على مصر في أمم إفريقيا، وأرى أن الفراعنة لا بد أن يكونوا في أوائل المراكز في أمم إفريقيا، الأمر ليس بالسهل نظرًا لوجود منتخبات قوية مثل السنغال حامل اللقب، لكن أعتقد أن معظم اللاعبين في إفريقيا يلعبون في أوروبا وهذا يجعل البطولة قوية، وأعتقد أن منتخب مصر مرشح بقوة للفوز باللقب”.

The BCB has decided to pay the PCB $325,000 as compensation for postponing the two tours to Pakistan in 2012. The PCB has accepted the terms but the tour schedule is yet to be announced.The announcement ended the recent impasse between the two boards after the PCB, in January, had set conditions for their tour to Bangladesh.After Sunday’s board meeting, the BCB president Nazmul Hassan said that the PCB had asked for $900,000 dollars but the BCB weren’t willing to pay more than $300,000. Ultimately they are paying $25,000 more.”We have decided to give 325,000 US dollars to the PCB,” BCB president Nazmul Hassan said. “They demanded 900,000 US dollars. We didn’t want to give more than 300,000 dollars. I think it will solve the situation. We have come under this agreement. We have let them know in a letter that this cannot be discussed in the future. It has been cleared.”In January, the PCB had demanded 50% of the tour revenue in addition to tours by the Under-19 and A teams. The BCB had responded and said the conditions laid down by the PCB were “not realistic” but later said that they may pay tour costs.

Almost identical to 2013 with a decent show in the one-day competitions but a mediocre return in the Championship. The season began in a blaze of glory with a 10-wicket thumping of Surrey at The Oval but the runs that Murray Goodwin and Jim Allenby provided the previous summer didn’t return and they only won two further matches, despite having four bowlers take 40 wickets.Glamorgan’s T20 campaign also saw a fine victory at The Oval and they were well on course to reach a first Finals Day since 2004 against Lancashire in the quarter-final before losing three wickets in an over and falling a run short of their target. They were a point short of qualifying for the Royal London Cup knockout stage, despite winning the same number of matches as all four sides above them in the table.2015 prospects
Jim Allenby is a huge loss to the club. He has been a consistent performer across all formats since arriving in 2009. Colin Ingram is his replacement on the wage bill but does not bowl and Allenby’s steady seamers will especially be missed in one-day cricket where he was Glamorgan’s most economical bowler in both competitions last season. It is therefore difficult to make a case for Glamorgan going any further in one-day cricket this year.In the Championship, runs are the biggest concern. Only Allenby topped 900 runs last season and it is imperative Jacques Rudolph comes up with a big season to ensure Glamorgan put enough weight on the scoreboard to be competitive; much rests on Colin Ingram too. Can Craig Meschede provide the 52 Championship wickets Allenby took last season? Depth in the bowling is a concern. Spin options are young. Power brokers
Given the identical nature of Glamorgan’s previous two seasons, it could be concluded that Toby Radford made little impact in his first season as head coach. It is a difficult task with a young squad at a club saddled by large debt. But Radford does have a few experienced players to work with and this season Jacques Rudolph, the former South African international, will captain the side in all formats, relieving Mark Wallace in four-day cricket.Key player
Michael Hogan has been one of the best overseas signing in recent years. He has led the bowling attack in some style with a stack of wickets in all formats – 98 in total last season. His efforts have sometimes propped Glamorgan up and sometimes made them a threat. With Jim Allenby’s departure, Hogan is more important than ever this season but is set to miss the first round of matches with a hamstring injury that the club will desperately hope is not too serious. They could be in the market for a loan signing if the prognosis is not good.Bright young thing
Craig Meschede, on loan to Glamorgan from Somerset, has made a promising start to his career at Taunton and, over the Severn Bridge for 2015, will hope to play a full part in the season and make progress. His brisk seamers made an impression for Somerset in 2013, with 26 first-class wickets at 28.38 and 22 at 21.72 in the 40-over competition, and should be a valuable asset for Glamorgan who have gaps to fill in their attack.ESPNcricinfo verdict
It is very difficult to predict improvement on the last two showings given that the player central to those campaigns has now left the club. Big seasons from Rudolph and Ingram will be needed to ensure Glamorgan remain competitive but they could be fighting off a wooden spoon. World Cup-holders Australia have broadened the field from which future generations of the national team may be chosen by adding a Cricket Australia XI to the 50-over Matador Cup for next summer.As first flagged by the CA team performance manager Pat Howard last October, a squad of 15 fringe talents will be pulled together once the six states have chosen their teams for the tournament, which will again be played at the outset of the season.It will not be the first time the limited-overs competition has been expanded, having featured the Canberra Comets in the late 1990s and even a New Zealand team in earlier years. The team will be mentored by the National Cricket Centre head coach Troy Cooley, with assistance from Graeme Hick.CA’s desire to allow more opportunities for emerging players to take part in first-class competition has been heightened in recent years by the displays of the National Performance Squad, which performed strongly in Top End limited overs fixtures last winter, including one defeat of Australia A.The allrounder Sean Abbott emerged from that squad and made his international debuts in Twenty20 and ODI matches during the matches against Pakistan in the UAE in October. Howard said CA was eager to usher through more talents by finding out how they coped with strong competition from state sides.”We know we’ve got the talent and we want to be able to expose these players to more high-pressure game time to help the states and to help the overall national cause,” Howard said. “We’re really excited about these player pathway initiatives. We want to keep rejuvenating our players and create the competition for places to improve performance.”We will assess how the extra Matador Cup team goes after two seasons, with a key measure for us seeing the best young talent coming through our system and progressing into state teams and the Sheffield Shield.”Other progressive measures to be unveiled next summer include the expansion of the second XI competition so all states play six four-day matches across the season, up from four apiece in 2014-15.Junior players will also be fast-tracked via a new system of talent identification, whereby the best players at the national Under-16 carnival will form a representative team that faces the states in the national Under-17s championship.
