Afghanistan will prepare for the 2015 World Cup with a two-week camp in Pakistan, coach Kabir Khan has said. The camp is scheduled to begin on April 15 in Karachi and former captains Aamir Sohail and Rashid Latif will also be working with the side’s batsmen and wicketkeepers.”We have a full year of events starting with the Asian Cricket Council Trophy next month and the excitement will reach the highest point with the World Cup, and we have planned a two-week camp in Karachi from April 15,” Khan told .Afghanistan secured their maiden World Cup qualification in October last year, after finishing second in the World Cricket League Championship with a victory over Kenya. The win capped off a remarkable run for Afghanistan five years after they began their cricketing journey by winning Division Five of the World Cricket League.Earlier in March, Afghanistan participated in their first Asia Cup and beat hosts Bangladesh. They had a poor World Twenty20, though, winning only one of their three first-round matches, and failed to qualify for the main draw. They also went down to Nepal in the league stages.”We had a few good results in the Asia Cup where we beat the hosts Bangladesh,” Khan said. “But our batsmen did not handle pressure well in the World Twenty20.”Sohail said he was aiming at making the players more competitive at the World Cup next year. “It will definitely be fun to coach the exciting players from Afghanistan and I will try to make them competitive enough to play against the world´s best teams next year,” he said.Afghanistan were given a grant of $1 million by the ICC after qualifying for the World Cup and the governing body has also arranged camps in Australia and New Zealand later this year. Afghanistan are placed in Group A of the draw alongside Australia, New Zealand, Scotland, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and England and will play their first match on February 18, 2015 against Bangladesh.

Monty Panesar may be the England frontline-spinner-in-waiting, but he was outbowled in this match by Pakistan’s finest exponent, Saeed Ajmal, who took seven for 19 in Essex’s second innings and 13 wickets in all.Essex needed 209 to beat Worcestershire, only six more runs than they managed in their first innings, but a combination of Ajmal’s subtlety, turn and low bounce in a pitch that was submerged in 11 foot of water only a couple of months ago was too much for them. Their batting was none too impressive, either.Indeed, both coaches, Paul Grayson and Steve Rhodes, lamented the batting in general. Essex, given that Panesar had taken five Worcestershire second innings wickets for just 23, should have come considerably closer to reaching their target. They took the decision to send Mark Pettini in at the top of the order, reasoning that as many quick runs should be scored as possible before Ajmal was introduced into the attack. It did not really work.Jack Shantry removed both him and Tom Westley before Ajmal came on – rather later than anticipated. Essex by then were 50 for 2 and it was quite apparent that his bowling would determine the outcome of the match.Shantry, in fact, took a third wicket, having Jaik Mickleburgh stumped won the leg side, overbalancing, by the impressive Ben Cox, but the next seven wickets went to one bowler – and with some rapidity. In six appearances for Worcestershire, in 2011 and now, he has taken 45 wickets: not a bad signing. “A world-class spinner,” as Grayson called him. “The pitch didn’t deteriorate that much. We didn’t bat well, we gave away too many runs. We are not achieving big enough totals and that is why we are still a Second Division side.”As for Worcestershire, who have now won all three of their Championship matches at New Road this season, the amount of fielding practice they have undergone this season is paying off. Their catching close to the wicket was particularly impressive in this fixture.”Although neither side batted well, Saeed showed what a wonderful spinner he is,” said Rhodes. “Ben Cox is really showing his presence when standing up – he gives us another dimension. His stumping today off Shantry was outstanding, as was his catch from a doosra on the second day.”Foster discussed wicketkeeping technique with Cox before the Essex coach departed, which was good to see: there is not merely a fast bowlers union. A permanência na Gávea, apesar do contrato até 31 de dezembro, não é garantida para o segundo semestre de 2019. José Chacon, empresário do lateral-esquerdo, pretende reunir-se em breve com a direção para saber os planos do clube para o atleta.

Os clubes interessados em contar com Miguel Trauco são mantidos em sigilo pelo estafe do jogador. O Flamengo, oficialmente, ainda não foi procurado, tampouco recebeu ofertas pelo jogador – cujo vínculo é até 31 de dezembro.

Assim, o lateral já está em condições de assinar um pré-contrato para defender qualquer outro clube a partir de janeiro. Contudo, a liberação para deixar a Gávea em julho só deve ser dada no caso de uma compensação financeira ao Flamengo – que conta com só um outro homem da função no elenco: Renê.

São três temporadas de Trauco no Flamengo e o peruano perdeu espaço no time depois de 2017. Foram 10 jogos em 2018 e outras 10 atuações em 2019.

Na Gávea, os números do lateral reforçam a ideia de que a diretoria não faria grande esforço por sua permanência. Porém, a chegada de Jorge Jesus pode mudar o cenário. O português, que ainda não teve contato com Trauco – a serviço da seleção peruana desde o início de junho -, tem participado ativamente da busca por reforços junto com a cúpula de futebol rubro-negra.

Caso indique que deseja contar com o jogador e o utilizar com frequência, o futuro de Miguel Trauco, que por ora parece distante da Gávea, pode mudar.

Defendendo o Flamengo desde janeiro de 2017, Miguel Trauco sempre vestiu a camisa 13. Agora, ao retornar da Copa América, o lateral-esquerdo passará a usar o número 20, que pertencia ao atacante Fernando Uribe, hoje no Santos.

A mudança ocorre por um motivo nobre: ao ser contratado pelo Rubro-Negro, o lateral-direito Rafinha entrou em contato com Trauco e pediu a camisa 13 – número o qual era utilizado pelo jogador no Bayern de Munique, na Alemanha, nas últimas oito temporadas. O peruano atendeu ao pedido e cedeu o número.

The team will continue to be a part of the Nagico Super50 List-A competition.”The Board approved a recommendation for the WICB First Class Competition to consist of the six premier regional teams – Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Leeward Islands, Trinidad & Tobago and Windward Islands,” the WICB release said.”The Board approved a recommendation for six teams along with the Combined Campuses and Colleges along with other invitational teams to participate in the 2015 edition of the Nagico Super50.”The reduction of teams in the first-class competition was one of the recommendations made in a report presented by Richard Pybus, WICB’s director of cricket, in March 2014. The report was based on a comprehensive region-wise study conducted by Pybus between November 2013 and January 2014. He had suggested downsizing the first-class competition to make it more competitive.CCC were first included for domestic competitions in 2007-08 and made it to the final of the first-class competition in 2011 – their best show. Jason Holder and Chadwick Walton, who have played internationals have represented the team.
