The England national selector, Geoff Miller, has admitted there are concerns over the fitness of Stuart Broad, England’s Twenty20 captain, and that a time may come when he cannot be part of the side in all three formats of the game.Broad, who flew home early from the Test series in India with a heel problem, is due to link up with the England squad ahead of the final two one-day internationals, but is considered unlikely to play either of those matches. A more realistic target for his return is the Twenty20 series in New Zealand, which starts on February 9.That, however, is admittance that Broad’s recovery from the heel problem that plagued him during the Test series in India has not gone as smoothly as hoped. Broad is visiting a kit specialist in Germany this week to be fitted with customised boots aimed to alleviate the problem on his left heel, which takes the brunt of the force during his delivery stride.”The concern is that there have been two or three niggles that have affected his form and availability,” Miller told reporters in India. “Anybody with an injury is a concern to us and we’ve got to manage workloads as best as we can, that’s why we’re continually looking at other players. We will look at it and make sure he’s used in the best possible way for English cricket. He knows that.”The rotation of players during a packed international schedule is now a major talking point, particularly in Australia, and England are currently using such a system during the one-day series in India, with James Anderson and Jonathan Trott also rested. It is likely, too, that certain key players will be given periods off during the upcoming home-and-away Test series against New Zealand.However, ruling a player out of a format completely, unless that is a decision taken by the player concerned, is a drastic option and one that Miller hoped Broad will not have to contemplate.”At this moment of time we’re not thinking about taking him out of a format because he’s got that sort of quality, but if we reached the stage where his body wasn’t responding to all kinds of cricket then we’re open to that.”Although Broad finished 2012 as the fourth-highest Test wicket-taker among quick bowlers, with 40 wickets at 31.70, his form tailed off in the second half of the year against South Africa and India. He had earlier been rested from the one-day series against South Africa, led England at the World Twenty20 before picking up his heel injury during the warm-up matches in India. The problem then reoccurred towards the end of the tour.Broad’s injury problems began in Australia during the 2010-11 Ashes, when a strained stomach muscle sustained in Adelaide forced him home early. He then suffered a rib injury during the World Cup, which again ended his participation early, and then picked up a shoulder injury late in the 2011 home season.”What we have to do is react to the injury that he has at any one time,” Miller said. “He felt, and we felt, that he had to look after his body so he went away and worked really hard at that. Since then there have been a few niggling injuries, but anybody can get them.”

أشاد أحمد ناجي، مدرب حراس مرمى منتخب مصر والأهلي السابق، بـ محمد الشناوي حارس عرين المارد الأحمر، بعد تألقه أمام بيراميدز، أمس الجمعة، في مباراة كأس السوبر.

He also took two top-order wickets in the second ODI in Kolkata, finishing with 3 for 39. The Indian batsmen had struggled to counter Junaid’s swing and his contributions helped Pakistan take the series 2-1.”I have been a bowler who has relied on bowling outswingers consistently at a good pace. It was Wasim (Akram) who told me to develop the incoming delivery which would be my weapon against the Indian right-handers,” Junaid told .Junaid had dismissed Virender Sehwag with an incoming delivery in Chennai and Virat Kohli in all three matches.”It’s very natural for left-arm fast bowlers to slant it across the right-handers,” Junaid said. “Once a guy like Virender Sehwag gauges the length of the away-going deliveries, you can be murdered. When I did my homework, I found out that Sehwag has a problem with the ball that comes in. I then started working hard on that incoming delivery with our chief bowling coach Mohammed Akram.”This is not the first time Junaid has credited Wasim for his development as a fast bowler. Last June, after taking 5 for 73 on a flat SSC pitch in a Test against Sri Lanka, Junaid spoke of how he was inspired by Wasim’s spell in the 1992 World Cup final, where his two wickets in successive deliveries turned the game Pakistan’s way. Junaid said he had watched the Youtube video of it and Wasim himself had passed on tips on reverse swing. Junaid found appreciable reverse swing in that Test to put Sri Lanka under pressure.In his short career with Pakistan, Junaid has established a reputation for being one of the quickest bowlers in the country. However, he says swing is more important to him than pace.”I don’t want to compromise on pace but swing is the most important aspect of my bowling,” he said. “One might get adjusted to pace but if one has the ability to move the ball consistently at a decent pace, he can create trouble in batsmen’s mind.”He said it was a team effort that helped Pakistan win. “I was never under any kind of pressure to perform. I also got a lot of back-up from the other end as Mohammed Irfan and Umar Gul also bowled superbly. It was certainly a collective effort.”

تحدث حسام البدري، مدرب الأهلي ومنتخب مصر الأسبق، والصفاقسي التونسي الحالي، عن مواجهة المارد الأحمر أمام الترجي المقبلة، في نصف نهائي دوري أبطال إفريقيا.

ويلتقي الأهلي مع الترجي في الثامنة مساء اليوم الجمعة بتوقيت تونس، العاشرة بتوقيت القاهرة، على الملعب الأولمبي حمادي العقربي برادس، في ذهاب الدور نصف النهائي للمسابقة القارية.

وقال البدري في تصريحات تليفزيونية عبر قناة “إي تي سي”: “كل الكلام في تونس حاليًا على مواجهة الترجي أمام الأهلي، وأتمنى فوز الفريق الأحمر وتحقيق نتيجة إيجابية تساعده في الوصول للنهائي قبل لقاء الإياب في القاهرة”.

وأردف: “مواجهة الترجي والأهلي صعبة للغاية والفريقان لديهما خبرات كبيرة في إفريقيا، لكن قوام الأحمر وحالة الاستقرار تمنحه الأفضلية في لقاء الغد، والمباراة عبارة عن شوطين الأول في تونس والثاني في القاهرة، وبالتأكيد الجهاز الفني للمارد الأحمر يعلم حالة منافسه جيدًا ولكن كل مباراة لها ظروفها رغم تعثر الترجي مؤخرا في الدوري التونسي ومعاناته من بعض الغيابات”.

واستطرد: “الأهلي حصد البطولة في السنوات الأخيرة، كما وصل للنهائي ويمتلك لاعبين لديهم خبرات كبيرة وهو ما يمنحهم فرصة كبيرة من أجل الفوز، وبالتأكيد الجماهير المنافسة للترجي تتمنى صعود الأهلي للنهائي وهذه هي كرة القدم، لكن في النهاية الروح الرياضية هي التي تسود بين جميع الفرق”.

وأضاف: “مواجهة الأهلي والترجي ستكون صعبة وأعتقد أن الفريق التونسي سيظهر بشكل مغاير عما ظهر به في لقاءات الدوري مؤخرًا وسيعمل على تحقيق أفضل نتيجة وأتمنى أن يتعامل الأهلي بشكل جيد وهناك بعض التفاصيل الصغيرة هي التي سوف تحسم المباراة”.

وتطرق للحديث: “الترجي يعاني من بعض الظروف الصعبة ولو تم الضغط عليه مبكرا من جانب لاعبي الأهلي، سيؤدي إلى توتر لاعبيه بشكل واضح، كما أن عدم حضور الجماهير أمر سلبي بالنسبة لنبيل معلول ورفاقه بكل تأكيد”.

وتابع: “من عوامل قوة الترجي الكرات الثابتة والاختراق من على الأطراف، كما يضم لاعب مميز وهو محمد علي بن رمضان الذي يعتبر من أبرز اللاعبين وله دور كبير في الاختراق من العمق وبالتأكيد كولر قادر على التعامل مع المنافس جيدًا”.

وواصل: “هناك لاعبون جيدون في الترجي مثل أنيس البدري وبن حمودة وبن رمضان، لكن هناك نواقص أخرى في الترجي، وأحذر لاعبي الأهلي من الكرات الثابتة، خصوصًا أن الفريق التونسي يمتلك لاعبين طوال القامة قادرين على التعامل بشكل جيد مع هذه الألعاب”.

وأوضح: “لا أعرف الحالة البدنية للاعبي الأهلي في الفترة الأخيرة، لكن محمد عبدالمنعم وياسر إبراهيم ومحمود متولي لديهم خبرات كبيرة في خط الدفاع، وفي الغالب سيعتمد كولر على 3 لاعبين في الوسط وطريقة اللعب في النهاية سيحددها المدير الفني”.

Dhoni’s knock of 224 tilted the scales in India’s favour, according to Chappell, and helped them to a 1-0 lead in the four-match series against Australia.”He has played several memorable knocks in one-day cricket, but this was the best I have seen him play in Test matches,” Chappell told .”I have seen him smack a yorker-length delivery from James Anderson for a six. It requires special talent. His success on a crumbling Chennai track stems from his ability to strike the ball hard on pitches where the ball tends to keep low. Had he scored just 124, the match would still have been in the balance.
