What’s the word?

According to reliable football.london reporter Alasdair Gold, the 48-year-old is someone who Spurs “still have a keen eye on”, whilst the club’s former midfielder Scott Parker is not thought to be a candidate right now.

Two weeks ago, the Lilywhites’ managerial search hit a bump in the road as the Leicester City manager seemingly ruled himself out of the running and The Sun claimed that a £70m price tag was deterring Spurs from approaching him.

Football Insider then suggested that Parker would be holding talks with the club’s hierachy this week following Fulham’s relegation.

Encouraging news

However, Gold’s recent claims throw an interesting spanner in the works and this could delight many supporters in north London.

Spurs have seen many a managerial target emerge, only for them to swiftly quash any links – Julian Nagelsmann was confirmed as Bayern Munich’s next head coach and Erik ten Hag signed an extension at Ajax, for example.

It lessens the pool of potential candidates, in which Rodgers would surely sit top, so the fact that Gold has suggested that Levy and co will still keep tabs on him is certainly a major source of encouragement.

There were reports that Spurs could make him the second-highest paid manager in the Premier League behind Pep Guardiola and perhaps that’s a big temptation.

The Foxes are certainly clear of Tottenham right now. After all, they have won a Premier League title, are heading for a second successive season in Europe (potentially in the Champions League) and have an FA Cup final on the horizon.

However, the prospect of £15m per year could be too good to refuse for Rodgers.

It is also an interesting project to take on, considering how far Spurs have fallen in the last two years. They have plenty of talent still on offer, as the new manager could build around the likes of Joe Rodon, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele and, of course, Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.

Rodgers’ reputation as a developmental coach is hugely appealing for Spurs. Players like Harvey Barnes, James Maddison and James Justin have all improved tenfold on his watch, whilst Jamie Vardy is ageing like a fine wine under his stewardship.

Perhaps none have benefitted as much as Kelechi Iheanacho, who has gone from flop to hero in just one season. The improvement has been so dramatic that Dean Windass hailed Rodgers as “unbelievable” for his role in his progression during an exclusive interview with Football FanCast.

Similarly, the former Liverpool and Celtic boss has been dubbed an “elite manager” who “could manage any team in Europe” by BT Sport’s Robbie Savage.

It’s no wonder that many Lilywhites fans appear desperate to see Rodgers appointed as Jose Mourinho’s successor and this latest development from the ever-reliable Gold will surely have them absolutely buzzing.

حكومة المملكة المتحدة أعلنت أمس الخميس قيامها بتجميد أصول أبراموفيتش مالك تشيلسي بسبب صلاته بالرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين، الذي قام بغزو أوكرانيا.

وأصبح النادي غير قادر على بيع تذاكر المباريات على أرضه أو خارج أرضه لمشجعيه، بالإضافة للحظر على أي عمليات نقل، ولا يمكن تسليم العقود الجديدة لأي من اللاعبين، ولا يمكن شراء البضائع أو بيعها وتم بالفعل إغلاق متجر النادي في ستامفورد بريدج، ثم قامت شركة “Three” الراعية لقميص تشيلسي بفسخ تعاقدها مع النادي اللندني. 

يضغط تشيلسي على الحكومة لإجراء تعديلات للسماح لحاملي دوري أبطال أوروبا بالعمل بأقرب طريقة طبيعية قدر الإمكان.

تم منع النادي من بيع التذاكر اعتبارًا من 10 مارس بموجب الشروط الحالية لتلك الرخصة الحكومية.

لكن من المفهوم أن وزير الرياضة نايجل هدلستون قال أمام اجتماع لاتحاد مشجعي كرة القدم يوم الخميس إن الحكومة ستكون منفتحة على فكرة العودة إلى مبيعات التذاكر.

تمت معاقبة أبراموفيتش بعد أن زعمت حكومة المملكة المتحدة أنها أثبتت صلات الرجل البالغ من العمر 55 عامًا بالرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين.

لطالما نفى مالك تشيلسي بشدة أي ارتباط بالزعيم الروسي، لكنه طرح النادي للبيع في 2 مارس وسط استمرار الغزو الروسي لأوكرانيا.

غرق مستقبل تشيلسي طويل المدى في الشكوك بسبب عقوبات أبراموفيتش، لكن قيادة حزب المحافظين لا يزال بإمكانها الإشراف على بيع النادي عبر ترخيص محدد من وزارة المالية.

لن يُسمح لأبراموفيتش بالاستفادة من أي عملية بيع، وتواصل مجموعة من الخاطبين الجادين تجميع العروض لشراء النادي.

لا يزال بإمكان حاملي التذاكر الموسمية حضور مباريات تشيلسي بموجب شروط ترخيص التشغيل الجديد.

لكن لا يمكن بيع تذاكر جديدة، مما يجعل الآلاف من مشجعي تشيلسي غير قادرين حاليًا على حضور المباريات المستقبلية.

Até o momento, o Corinthians acertou as contratações de Luidy, destaque da Série B pelo CRB-AL, e Jô, que estava sem clube após deixar o futebol chinês. O clube teve negociações adiantadas com o meia Wagner, do Tianjin Teda (CHN), e que se encaixa no perfil “contundente”, mas uma barreira jurídica interrompeu as conversas. Além disso, há interesse em jogadores como Luan, do Vasco, Rithely, do Sport, Renê Júnior, da Ponte Preta, e Alan Santos, do Coritiba, mas todos longe de conclusão.

Segundo Flávio Adauto, o Corinthians vai buscar “grandes jogadores” e pretende ter o elenco praticamente pronto até a reapresentação.

Gary Rowett is interested in a deal that would bring Scott McMann to Millwall this summer.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to a report by The Scottish Sun, who claim that the Lions, alongside Hibernian and St Johnstone, are keeping a close eye on the Hamilton Academical left-back ahead of a potential move in the upcoming transfer window.

The report goes on to claim that Millwall scouts watched McMann in action against Kilmarnock last weekend and that Rowett is keen for the 24-year-old to be part of his summer rebuild at The Den.

Rowett must move

While it has been reported that Millwall look set to sign the Derby County left-back Scott Malone in the coming weeks, it can easily be argued that a move for McMann would nonetheless be an extremely astute move by Rowett.

Over the defender’s 36 Scottish Premiership fixtures this season, he scored one goal, registered six assists and created a whopping eight big chances for his teammates – something that is no mean feat when playing for a side that finished bottom of the league table.

McMann also impressed defensively, making an average of 1.6 interceptions, 2.2 tackles and winning 6.2 duels per game in the Scottish top flight, with these metrics resulting in the 24-year-old averaging a SofaScore match rating of 7.03 – ranking him as the club’s best performer in the league.

The left-back also returned decent numbers in the domestic cups, scoring one goal and registering one assist over his four appearances in the League Cup and the SFA Cup combined.

As such, it would appear that, if McMann were to join Millwall this summer, he would not only be capable of providing backup for Malone but would also push the 30-year-old for a starting spot in Rowett’s team, something that would undoubtedly benefit the level of performance given by both players.

Furthermore, considering the fact that Hamilton suffered relegation this season, coupled with the left-back’s modest Transfermarkt valuation of £293k, a deal for the former Scotland U17 international could be a cheap one to get over the line for the Millwall boss.

So, it would appear highly advisable for the 47-year-old to do all he can to get Millwall to land McMann – whom Brian Rice dubbed a “great talent” – this summer, as the 24-year-old would bring with him a variety of benefits at The Den.

Many Wolves fans have been left to rave as a transfer update emerged on Goncalo Guedes.

As per Football Insider, the Midlands club are confident of beating Everton to the signing of the Portugal international after early talks.

A recruitment source has told the news outlet that the Molineux faithful have talked about offering Patrick Cutrone in part exchange for him, and are in pole position due to their links with Jorge Mendes.

Guedes scored a decent seven goals and supplied a further seven assists in 34 matches in total across all competitions in the 2020/21 season (Transfermarkt), and at 24 years of age, he still has a lot of potential to fulfil.

If it also means getting one over on their Premier League rivals, the potential deal certainly makes sense for the Wanderers.
