وفيما يخص عبد الله جمعة، فإن اللاعب لم يكتمل تعافيه من الإصابة في أنكل القدم، حيث ما زال يخضع للمرحلة الأخيرة من البرنامج التدريبي الخاص به تحت إشراف أندرية فيليب مدرب الأحمال.

Transfermarkt have him classified as a midfielder, FlashScore as a forward and The Glasgow Evening Times as a full-back or a winger, making Doak an extremely versatile player.

He is yet to pen professional terms at Parkhead, though, and it seems as if he could be the latest Hoops starlet to move on before making a senior Celtic debut.

The Latest: Burns’ claim

Burns shared an update regarding Doak for the Daily Record on Saturday afternoon, claiming that the Reds are looking at a compensation deal for the 16-year-old.

However, Celtic are trying to stop a move to Merseyside and are aiming to convince the teenager to agree a long-term contract in Glasgow.

The Verdict: Not ideal

The Hoops have lost a number of talented youngsters over the years, with Leo Hjelde a recent example of a player to depart without making a senior appearance for Celtic before going on to make a first team breakthrough for Leeds United.

Mitchel Frame is another Parkhead academy starlet who has been linked with a Premier League switch, and it seems as if Doak could also now leave.

The pull of the Premier League appears to be too much for these young talents to resist, but hopefully CEO Michael Nicholson and Postecoglou can persuade Doak to commit his future to Celtic.

South Australia are battling to keep their season alive but Queensland still have the upper hand at the Gabba as they chase a home final. The Bulls gave the visitors a target of 326 to win and the Redbacks improved significantly on their first-innings 72 as they reached 1 for 89 before rain and bad light cut the final session.More wet weather is predicted for Saturday and if a result is not possible it will leave the Redbacks out of the race for the final and Queensland in second place with a game to go. Wade Townsend’s third first-class century was the innings of the game as he negotiated the difficult conditions to take Queensland to 6 for 237 before the declaration came shortly before lunch.The opener Townsend, who resumed on 74, moved to an unbeaten 114, which included 16 fours and a six, while most of his team-mates struggled. Chris Simpson managed 33 and Ben Cutting collected 15 not out, but it was Townsend who was responsible for the strong position. Gary Putland finished the match with seven wickets after taking 3 for 39 while Peter George had 2 for 38.South Australia’s openers put on 89 – more than the whole side made in the first innings – and lost James Smith (53) to the final ball before tea when he hit Luke Feldman to gully. Smith was also responsible for striking Townsend in the shoulder at short leg in the sixth over of the innings and he went to hospital for x-rays. When the rain came Daniel Smith was 32 not out.

O Corinthians renovou contratos de mais de um time em 2017. Todos os jogadores do elenco profissional que tinham vínculo com vencimento próximo chegaram a um acordo para prolongar. A lista vai desde jovens pouco utilizados até os líderes do elenco.

Foram oficializadas em 2017 as renovações de: Rodrigo Figueiredo (até o fim de 2019), Moisés (até o fim de 2019), Pedrinho (até o fim de 2020), Rodriguinho (até o fim de 2019), Maycon (até o fim de 2021), Marciel (até o fim de 2020), Guilherme Mantuan (até o fim de 2020), Caíque França (até o fim de 2020), Léo Príncipe (até o fim de 2019) e Léo Santos (setembro de 2020). Além deles, o Timão havia prolongado o contrato de Guilherme Arana, mas o lateral já foi vendido ao Sevilla (ESP) neste mês.

A lista de renovações, porém, ainda tem outros jogadores. Cássio, Fagner e Camacho já têm acerto com a diretoria, mas precisam assinar seus novos vínculos. o goleiro e o lateral-direito vão prolongar seus contratos até o fim de 2021, enquanto o volante renovará até julho de 2021.

Há ainda outros casos de novos contratos no Corinthians em 2017. O volante Paulo Roberto, que estava emprestado apenas até o fim deste ano, foi comprado pelo Timão e tem vínculo até o fim de 2019. Já o meia Danilo, que tinha vínculo também apenas até o fim desta temporada, renovou por mais um ano.

O Corinthians também busca já renovar com Balbuena, que tem contrato até o fim de 2018. A diretoria ofereceu um novo vínculo, com quatro anos, e espera se reunir com os empresários do jogador paraguaio.

Com o pacotão de renovações nesta temporada, o Timão iniciará 2018 sem casos de emergência. O foco pode ficar apenas em contratar reforços.

Os sobreviventes da tragédia aérea da Chapecoense, Neto e Alan Ruschel estão próximos de renovarem com a Chape por mais três temporadas. O contrato dos dois se encerra no dia 31 de dezembro mas o clube e os atletas já alinharam o acerto, que depende só de detalhes finais e burocráticos.

Alan Ruschel já provou em campo que está em condições de jogar futebol em alto nível e ficará em definitivo na Chape. Na volta aos gramados, o lateral mudou definitivamente de posição e virou meia ofensivo. A tendência é que o vínculo com o Internacional, que vai até dezembro de 2018, seja rescindido para que um novo contrato seja assinado até o fim de 2020.

Já Neto se recuperou sem a necessidade de cirurgia no joelho e começará a pré-temporada em igualdade de condições com os companheiros. O contrato de Neto independe das condições que voltará aos gramados. A Chapecoense prevê também um plano de carreira para o defensor seguir no clube mesmo que não tenha a sequência esperada dentro de campo.

Com o elenco de férias, Neto seguirá treinando em Chapecó até o fim de semana. Nas semanas seguintes, fará trabalho na folga monitorado pela Chape para acelerar a recuperação do condicionamento físico.

Assim como Neto e Alan Ruschel, Follmann também tem contrato de três anos com a Chape, assinado em meado de 2017, para exercer a função de embaixador do clube.

Zimbabwe’s domestic Twenty20 competition will be run by Harare-based sports event management company Dominus Sport

It appears that while Dominus Sport has the sole mandate to stage the competition, ZC remains the governing body and Dominus Sport will work within the ZC domestic structure.The nine-day domestic Twenty20 cup starts on February 12 and will be staged solely in Harare. In addition to the five domestic franchises, Namibia have been invited to take part as the sixth side in the competition. The Namibian team is expected to arrive in Zimbabwe on February 10, two days prior to the start of the tournament.”Twenty20 cricket has gained popularity around the world and has carved out a niche market for itself,” said ZC managing director Ozias Bvute. “We saw the need to be innovative in our approach to increasing cricket audiences here in Zimbabwe and decided to enter into a partnership with Dominus Sport. I am confident that this relationship will result in the growth of cricket as a mass-market sport and entertainment alternative.”The revamping of Zimbabwe’s provincial structure began with the creation of the five regional franchises last year, as was recommended by an ICC report into the country’s cricketing infrastructure. The ZC Board resolved to commercialise its various domestic competitions at a general meeting in Bulawayo in August 2009, although the 2009-10 Twenty20 competition will be the first to be run by a separate company.Apart from the final between Westerns and Northerns, last year’s domestic Twenty20 competition suffered from poor spectator attendances and struggled to arouse interest from the media, and it remains to be seen whether these latest changes will garner more attention.
